Ranveer Singh Spokesperson Breaks Silence on Film Workers’ Ban Amid Don 3 Tensions

The dispute surrounding Don 3 intensified on Monday after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees appealed to the film industry to stop working with Ranveer Singh over his abrupt exit from the project. Soon after the federation’s statement, the actor’s team issued an official response addressing the controversy.

Ranveer Singh breaks the silence through a spokesperson

Responding to the growing row, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson said the actor continues to hold immense respect for the film fraternity and everyone associated with the Don franchise.

The statement added that Ranveer deliberately chose not to react publicly during the ongoing developments because he believes professional disagreements and personal relationships should be handled with maturity and dignity.

According to the spokesperson, despite several reports and speculations surfacing over the past few months, the actor never felt the need to engage in public commentary or fuel rumors.

The statement further noted that Ranveer remains focused on his work commitments while continuing to wish the franchise and all involved members success going forward.

His team also said that maintaining restraint and grace during difficult situations has always been a conscious approach for the actor.

FWICE issues non cooperation directive

Earlier in the day, FWICE released a formal statement announcing a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh.

The federation claimed it had sent multiple notices to the actor before arriving at the decision and alleged that Ranveer responded by saying the matter was not appropriate for the workers’ body to intervene in, as it related to contractual issues.

FWICE stated that its office bearers had collectively resolved to issue the directive after considering the actor’s conduct in relation to the project and the stakeholders involved.

The body also appealed to producers, industry associations, and film organizations to support its stance against what it described as unprofessional practices within the industry.

How the Don 3 controversy began

After Shah Rukh Khan headlined Don in 2006 and Don 2 in 2011, it was officially announced in 2023 that Ranveer Singh would take over the lead role in Don 3.

However, reports of tensions between Ranveer, Farhan Akhtar, and Ritesh Sidhwani from Excel Entertainment emerged in late 2025.

The dispute reportedly escalated after Ranveer allegedly stepped away from the project following the success of Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar.

At one point, rumors also suggested that Hrithik Roshan was being considered as a replacement, though the actor later denied those reports.

Farhan approached industry bodies over the dispute

According to reports, Farhan Akhtar initially approached the Producers Guild of India regarding the matter.

The guild reportedly advised both sides to resolve the dispute amicably instead of pursuing legal action.

Farhan later approached FWICE in April seeking intervention, after which the workers’ federation provided Ranveer an opportunity to resolve the issue before eventually issuing the non-cooperation directive.
